Using this trick you can register the Internet Download Manager (IDM) for free using you own credentials i.e register on your Name and email ID.
Also you can get rid of 'fake serial key if idm' message.
1] Download the IDM trial version from the idm site.
Install it.
If you get the fake serial key message, don't worry, refer to step 3.
Otherwise, open idm registration menu and then refer to step 2.
2] Enter You name- as you want
Enter Email address- as you want
Serial- enter any one of these provided below

Now click on Registe.
After that it will show an error message that you have entered fake serial key. click cancel.
3] Open host file with notepad which is located in-
c:\windows\system32\driver\etc\
4] copy these lines provided below-
127.0.0.1 tonec.com
127.0.0.1 www.tonec.com
127.0.0.1 registeridm.com
127.0.0.1 www.registeridm.com
127.0.0.1 secure.registeridm.com
127.0.0.1 internetdownloadmanager.com
127.0.0.1 www.internetdownloadmanager.com

5] Paste these line into host file, save it and exit that.
Now start idm.
